Visiting Hours

Visits from family and friends are therapeutic and an important part of the patients’ recovery process at Elkhart General. To allow for convenience of patients and their visitors, we have allowed as much flexibility as possible in the visiting schedule. To assure our patients receive adequate rest and uninterrupted treatment programs, the hospital appreciates close observation of the stated visiting hours.

To further facilitate patient needs, it is requested that

  • Visits should be limited to 10-20 minutes
  • Visitation should be limited to two visitors pers patient, unless otherwise specified
  • Visitation of small children is limited to the immediate family (child, grandchild, etc.) and should be of short duration. Small children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
  • When visiting, please adhere to the "Quiet Please" signs. Nursing staff will advise visitors if the noise level is too high or visitation is disruptive or too lengthly.
  • Visiting hours may be flexible so family and friends may visit before surgery or proceudres. Please see the patient's nurse.
