Hospital Engineering Director Honored

ELKHART, IN – David Furlong, Director of Engineering Services at Elkhart General Hospital, Elkhart, IN, has been awarded the Daniel W. Bowen Jr. Operational Excellence Award of the Food and Facilities Management Association. The award is presented to the manager in the field of health care who demonstrates excellence throughout the year in the areas of fiscal management, department operations, and customer service. Furlong has led the Facilities Department at Elkhart General since 2001. During his tenure, he has managed over $100,000,000 of construction and renovation projects, including installations in the new West Wing as well as renovations within the East Wing.

The Award was presented at the Association’s recent Annual Meeting in Detroit.
