Heart Health to be Discussed at Farmers Market

ELKHART, IN – Elkhart General is offering a free public seminar titled “Minding Your Heart: It’s Your Choice” on Thursday, February 11 at 2:30pm in the Elkhart General Healthy Lifestyle Corner on the 2nd floor of the American Countryside Farmers Market in Elkhart.

Liz Winet, FNP-bc, MSN, MBA, Manager of the New Directions Wellness Clinic will discuss and define a heart healthy lifestyle. She will help attendees discern who needs to watch their carbs, fat, salt and peanuts and answer the question of genetic predisposition. Liz will focus on the powerful mind/body connection and how that impacts heart health.

All attendees will be entered into a drawing to win a copy of Positive Mind, Healthy Heart: Take Charge of Your Cardiac Health, One Day at a Time by acclaimed author Joseph Piscatella. Joe is one of the longest-lived survivors of a cardiac bypass (32 years and counting).
