Football Hall of Famer Named Spokesperson for Elkhart General Hospital. Retired running back Gale Sayers to endorse Hospital’s Orthopedic program.

ELKHART, IN – Former professional running back Gale Sayers recently teamed with Elkhart General Hospital, an independent, not-for-profit, community-owned healthcare system in northern Indiana, to promote the hospital’s Center for Joint Replacement.

 

Sayers, a former Chicago Bear and member of both the Pro Football Hall of Fame and the College Football Hall of Fame, underwent total knee replacement surgery at the hospital in 2009. Following his successful treatment, Sayers agreed to partner with Elkhart General to produce a comprehensive advertising campaign. The campaign, which includes TV, print, outdoor and online, will launch in August.

 

“Gale Sayers’ endorsement of the hospital is a true testament to the wonderful work we do here at Elkhart General,” said Elkhart General Hospital President and CEO Greg Lintjer. “Our Center for Joint Replacement is in the top five percent in the nation because of the outstanding care we provide to our patients before, during and after surgery. Mr. Sayers experienced that care first-hand and we’re thrilled with his support.”

 

Gale Sayers, part-time Indiana resident and long-time supporter of the northern Indiana community said that he was very comfortable at Elkhart General.  “The doctors at Elkhart General Hospital know what they’re doing,” Sayers said. “I would tell anyone with bad knees to get the surgery done today. I was very pleased with the treatment and the results.”
