Eye Care Topic of September Diabetes Support Group

ELKHART, IN – The Elkhart General Hospital Diabetes Support Group presents “Diabetes and Eye Care” on Thursday, September 2 at 7:00pm in Auditorium B in the West Wing of Elkhart General Hospital.

Diabetes is the leading cause of blindness among adults. Joshua S. Connor, O.D. from the Michiana Eye Center will review how high blood sugar can cause eye problems and how people with diabetes can preserve their sight.

The Elkhart General Diabetes Support Group gives patients and families dealing with diabetes continuing peer support. Monthly meetings feature a variety of topics related to diabetes presented by experts in the healthcare field. The Diabetes Support Group meets the first Thursday of every month in Elkhart General Hospital Auditorium B.
