Elkhart General Hospital to Host Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention Open House

ELKHART – Elkhart General Hospital is hosting “The Heart of the Matter: Heart Disease & Stroke Prevention Open House” on Thursday, Feb. 17 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. in Auditorium B in the Elkhart General West Wing.

Join Elkhart General Hospital’s award winning Center for Cardiac Care, HeartReach Michiana; Bittersweet Medical Associates, Midwest Cardiovascular Specialists, The Elkhart Clinic Center for Heart Care, the American Heart Association, and other cardiology specialists, as they provide numerous educational opportunities and hands on activities that will improve your heart health. Free screenings available include non-fasting cholesterol, blood sugar, blood pressure, body mass index, carotid artery tests, peripheral artery disease tests and metabolic syndrome risk assessments. Participants will have the opportunity to review test results with physicians and clinicians who specialize in heart care.

The following lectures will also be available:

  • Heart Disease Prevention – State of the Art” from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. presented by Wai Hung Lee, MD 
  • "Coronary Disease” from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. presented by Thomas Nolan, MD
