Elkhart General Hospital to Hold Free Seminar on Diabetes and Heart Health

ELKHART – Elkhart General Hospital will present “Control Your Diabetes for a Healthy Heart” on Wednesday, March 23 from noon – 1 p.m. in the Prenatal Classroom in the Elkhart General West Wing.
Liz Winet FNP-bc, MSN, MBA, will discuss the connection between diabetes control and heart disease. Participants will learn the history of diabetes glucose targets; understand the role of hemoglobin A1C levels, and how eating, exercise and obesity impact diabetes control. In addition, participants will learn the basics of reading food labels and how to select foods and activities that fit their unique glucose metabolism needs.
