Elkhart General Hospital Opens New Electrophysiology Lab
September 13, 2010

ELKHART, IN – Elkhart General Hospital recently opened a new Electrophysiology (EP) Lab as an addition to the award winning Center for Cardiac Care.
The EP Lab houses state-of-the-art technology, including the CARTO System, an advanced computer mapping system that provides a picture of the heart's electrical layout and assists the Cardiologists in locating the sources of irregular heart rhythms.
This dedicated space is staffed by Cardiologists who are Board Certified in Electrophysiology and Cardiology. In addition, dedicated Cardiovascular Technicians and Registered Nurses comprise the team that performs each EP procedure. Having a dedicated EP lab allows greater access for emergency procedures.
