Elkhart General Hospital Foundation Dedicates Pathway

ELKHART, IN – The Elkhart General Hospital Foundation recently held a dedication ceremony for the newly completed Celebration of Life Pathway. The Pathway is one of many ways donors can commemorate an important life event, memorialize a loved one, or honor a healthcare provider, while providing financial support for the Elkhart General Hospital Foundation.

Attending the dedication were members of the Foundation Board of Directors, Elkhart General Hospital employees, and members from the community. During the dedication, Arthur Decio, President of the Foundation Board of Directors; Gregory Lintjer, President of Elkhart General; and Jonathan Housand, Executive Director of the Foundation, presented Jon Raber, groundskeeper for Elkhart General, with an engraved paver for his time and contribution in designing and building the Pathway.

Contributions to the Foundation fund a variety of programs that meet critical Community and Hospital needs. The Foundation has allocated $450,000 to pay the Healthy Indiana Plan (HIP) premiums for uninsured low-income Elkhart County adults. Lifeline Medical Alert devices are provided at no charge, including installation, to more than 200 homebound individuals. More than $106,000 in healthcare related scholarships was awarded this year to 38 recipients. The long-range strategic goal of the Foundation is to provide significant philanthropic support to the Hospital to meet vital Community needs.
