Elkhart General Healthcare System and American Nursing Care to Form Home Care Services Partnership

ELKHART, IN - On July 1, Elkhart General Home Care and American Nursing Care (ANC) will form a new joint venture in Elkhart that will provide patients in northern Indiana with the highest quality of home health care services.

The Elkhart General Healthcare System and ANC will become equal owners of the new company, which will provide home health care, a home infusion pharmacy and home medical equipment. Under this partnership, both Elkhart General Home Care and Elkhart General Home Medical Equipment (HME) will be managed by ANC. The existing ANC in Mishawaka will relocate more than 50 employees to Elkhart General’s current Home Care office at 2020 Industrial Parkway. Elkhart’s HME will remain in its current location at 225 E. Jackson Blvd.

As equal partners, Elkhart General Home Care, LLC will be overseen by a board consisting of representatives from both Elkhart General and ANC, with American Nursing Care as the managing partner. This agreement is part of a larger trend of hospital-based agencies joining with organizations specializing in home care in order to gain expert care and management experience, while maintaining a strong connection to this important post-acute care service.

While the partnership will enable the two organizations to operate more efficiently, ANC President and CEO Daniel S. Dietz points out the changes will be virtually invisible to patients. “Patients from both organizations can expect the same high-quality care and services they’ve received in the past and, in most cases, will continue to see the same dedicated caregivers they’ve come to rely on and trust.”

American Nursing Care was founded in 1976 and provides home care services and health care staffing throughout Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. The parent company, Consolidated Health Services, is based in Cincinnati, Ohio. American Nursing Care operates 23 home care offices in three states, and has a proven track record for successful joint ventures with home care providers.
