Elkhart Express Champions Community Blood Drive

ELKHART, IN - The World Champion Elkhart Express and the Blood Bank of Elkhart General Hospital are teaming up to sponsor a community blood drive at North Side Gym in Elkhart.

Members of the 2006 IBL World Champion Express and Head Coach Daimon Beathea will be on hand throughout the drive, which will be held Saturday, May 5 at North Side Gym in Elkhart from Noon to 4:00 PM.

The public will have an opportunity watch an otherwise closed practice and meet the 2006 “I. B.L.” WORLD CHAMPION ELKHART EXPRESS basketball team at the same time. Those who complete the blood donor screening process, which takes about an hour, will receive a free T-shirt and a 2007 autographed team program. They will also be eligible for special prizes, including autographed basketballs, a pair of Express game tickets and a Pre-game limo and dinner package.

Save time by making an appointment to give blood during drive. Call the Elkhart General Blood Bank at (574) 523-3329 Monday-Friday 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. The Blood Bank will also answer questions about the donation process and your ability to donate.

Those planning to donate must be at least 17 years old, weight at least 110 pounds, and bring a photo ID. Be sure to eat and drink plenty of fluids prior to donating.

The Community Blood Drive is being conducted in cooperation with the South Bend Medical Foundation and the Elkhart Clinic.
