Diabetes Support Group to Discuss Heart Healthy Foods on April 8

ELKHART – The Elkhart General Hospital Diabetes Support Group will present “Questions and Answers about Food” on Friday, April 8 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the Prenatal Classroom in the Elkhart General West Wing.

Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator, Cheryl Brandt, MS, RD, CD, CDE, will show you how to make your favorite recipes heart healthy. She will also demonstrate a method for calculating the carbohydrate content. Participants are encouraged to bring their favorite recipe.

The Elkhart General Hospital Diabetes Support Group gives adults with diabetes and their families and friends continuing peer support. Monthly meetings feature a variety of topics related to diabetes presented by experts in the healthcare field. The Diabetes Support Group meets the first Thursday of every month in the Elkhart General Hospital Auditorium B, and the second Friday of the month in the Elkhart General Hospital Prenatal Classroom.
