CPR Recertification Courses Offered by Elkhart General Hospital Emergency Medical Services

GOSHEN – Elkhart General Hospital Emergency Medical Services is offering CPR Recertification Courses on Wednesday, May 18 or Thursday, May 26, 2011 from 8 a.m. – 11 a.m. or 12 p.m. – 3 p.m. at the Elkhart General Hospital Health Education Center, located at 2222 Rieth Blvd., next to Lowe’s on US 33 in Goshen.

The Healthcare Provider CPR Recertification Course is intended for certified or non-certified, licensed or non-licensed healthcare professionals but is also open to anyone that are looking to update their certification. Topics and demonstrations that will be covered are:

  • Chain of survival 
  • Survival and signs of heart attack, cardiac arrest, and stroke 
  • Foreign Body Airway Obstruction (FBAO) in adults and children 
  • Utilization of an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) 
  • Utilization of a Bag-Valve-Mask (BVM) 
  • Adult CPR 
  • Infant & Child CPR

Course fee is $35 for affiliated providers and $40 for non-EGH affiliated providers. Courses are open to the public. If you need recertification, call (574) 875-6430. To register online, visit www.egh.org.
