CPR Recertification Courses Offered by Elkhart General Hospital Emergency Medical Services

GOSHEN – Elkhart General Hospital Emergency Medical Services is offering CPR Recertification Courses on Thursday, March 31, 2011 from 8 a.m. – 11 a.m. or 12 p.m. – 3 p.m. at the Elkhart General Health Education Center, 2222 Rieth Blvd., next to Lowe’s on US 33 in Goshen.

The Healthcare Provider CPR Recertification Course is intended for certified or non-certified, licensed or non-licensed healthcare professionals, but is also open to anyone that are looking to update their certification. Topics and demonstrations that will be covered are:

• Chain of survival 
• Survival and signs of heart attack, cardiac arrest, and stroke 
• Foreign Body Airway Obstruction (FBAO) in adults and children 
• Utilization of an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) 
• Utilization of a Bag-Valve-Mask (BVM) 
• Adult CPR 
• Infant & Child CPR
