Cardiologist to Present at Health Luncheon
October 8, 2010

ELKHART, IN – Elkhart General Hospital is hosting a Health Luncheon on Tuesday, October 26 from 11:30am – 1:00pm in Auditorium B in the West Wing at Elkhart General Hospital. A nutritious lunch will begin at 11:30am, followed by the presentation “Cardiac Update: Vulnerable Plaque” at 12:00pm.

According to the Center for Disease Control, heart disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women. Half of the deaths due to heart disease are in women (CDC, 2006). Join Donald Westerhausen, Jr., MD, FACC, of Midwest Cardiovascular Specialists as he discusses how inflammation causes heart attacks and how most attacks occur with blockages less than 50%. Participants will learn how to decrease their risk and how well medications protect against heart attacks.

All attendees will be entered into a drawing to win a $50.00 Martins Gift Card. Program fee is $10 and includes lunch. Cash or check is accepted at the door. Registration is required by Friday, October 22. To register, call Elkhart General Hospital Marketing and Community Relations at (574) 523-3303 or visit www.egh.org.
