Breast Cancer Awareness and Prevention Night at Elkhart General Hospital
October 7, 2010

ELKHART, IN – Join Elkhart General Hospital for an evening of fellowship and breast cancer information. “Breast Cancer Awareness and Prevention: An Evening of Empowerment, Education and Camaraderie” will be held on Tuesday, October 19 from 5:30pm – 7:30pm in Auditorium B in the Elkhart General Hospital West Wing.

The chance that a woman will be diagnosed with breast cancer during her lifetime is 1 in 8. However, many men are diagnosed too. Early detection is key to survival and knowledge is power! Take the opportunity to learn about breast cancer by joining Elkhart General Hospital physicians and clinicians as they provide information on the latest preventative methods and treatment options. Shop local retailers, such as Girly Girl Gifts and Accessories and One of a Kind Jewelry by Ali Oesch, and relax with a chair massage. Stylists from The Beauty Shoppe, a full service hair salon, will offer pink hair extensions for a $10 donation. All the money raised by selling the extensions will be donated to the Elkhart General Hospital Foundation Patient Oncology Fund. Free bone density screenings for osteoporosis will be available. Delicious appetizers and drinks will be served. This is a great way to spend an hour or two with friends while learning about breast cancer and its prevention. Participants will be given an opportunity to register for great door prizes!

This evening is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Elkhart General Hospital Community Relations at (574) 523-3303 or visit www.egh.org.
