Become an Emergency Medical Technician

GOSHEN, IN – Elkhart General is offering an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Course beginning January 11, 2011. The course meets twice a week and runs through August 2011 and will be held at the Elkhart General Health Education Center located at 2222 Rieth Blvd, next to Lowe’s on US 33 in Goshen.

An Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) is often the first to respond to an emergency situation and their role is a critical one. For a person willing and able to obtain the right training and EMT certification, a career as an emergency medical technician can be rewarding and fulfilling.

During the Elkhart General Hospital EMT Course, you will gain the concepts, information and skills needed to safely assess and treat patients in pre-hospital emergency situations. Training includes classroom instruction as well as clinical rotations in the Elkhart General Hospital Emergency Department, and riding along in an emergency ambulance. Successful completion of this program provides eligibility for the National Registry and Indiana State Certification examinations.

All inclusive tuition is $625 which includes textbook, workbook, and clinical supplies. Payment options are available.
