A1C Champion® to Speak at Elkhart General Hospital Diabetes Support Group

ELKHART, IN – The Elkhart General Hospital Diabetes Support Group will present “Taking Control” by A1C Champion®, Loretha Huff, Thursday, October 6, at 7 p.m. in Classrooms 9 & 10 in the Lower Level of Elkhart General Hospital.
 
Join Loretha Huff as she shares her personal experience with living with diabetes. Loretha is a member of the sanofi-aventis A1C Champions Program®, which is a patient led approach to diabetes education. A1C Champions® know first hand the challenges and obstacles to maintain control of their diabetes. Loretha will talk about topics including:
  • Achieving good glucose control
  • Learning about effective self-management
  • Developing a balanced, healthy lifestyle
  • Planning and prioritizing diabetes management
  • Overcoming fears surrounding diabetes
  • Finding resources for diabetes support

About A1C Champions®
The A1C Champions® program offers diabetes education workshops led by people with diabetes for people with diabetes. Through interactive 60-minute sessions, the well-trained Champions share their personal experiences with diabetes self-management, as well as tips for maintaining better control of blood sugar levels.
 
About Diabetes Support Group
The Elkhart General Hospital Diabetes Support Group gives adults with diabetes and their families and friends continuing peer support. Monthly meetings feature a variety of topics related to diabetes presented by experts in the healthcare field. The Diabetes Support Group meets the first Thursday of every month.
