What you will need to Bring to Your Surgery

What should I bring to the Hospital?

• A list of your current Medications, including all vitamins, herbal supplements and over-the-counter preparations you may be taking
• A list of any known allergies you may have
• A list of previous surgeries you have had
• Your Insurance/Prescription card

If you are scheduled to stay one or more nights in the hospital following your surgery, please have a bag packed with any personal items you will want during your stay. Your family member(s) may bring it up to your hospital room following your surgical procedure.

If needed

• Insulin
• Inhaler
• Glasses/Contact Lens Case

PLEASE DO NOT bring any jewelry (other then wedding rings), valuables or money with you to the hospital.

For Our Total Joint Patients

Unless otherwise instructed by your physician or pre-op nurse, you will need to bring the following items with you to the hospital (in addition to the items listed above):

• 2 to 3 changes of loose, comfortable clothing
• A pair of sturdy, non-skid shoes
• A non-wheeled walker. The walker should be brought to the hospital by noon the day following your surgery.
