Functional Capacity Evaluations

A Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) is defined as “a systematic method of measuring an individual’s ability to perform meaningful tasks on a safe and dependable basis.”

Our therapists perform a series of dynamic physical tests designed to determine an individual's physical abilities and tolerances. These tests help identify and planning with regard to safe return to work goals, job search, and/or the need for additional services to enhance the individual's level of functioning and independence. FCEs also provide valuable information used to answer specific questions from physicians, insurance carriers, and attorneys with respect to the validity of an injury or reported dysfunction, as well as to assist in the determination that an injured individual has reached maximum medical improvement.
