Rehabilitation Services

When someone suffers an injury or illness, their whole world revolves around getting better, getting home and getting back to their normal routine. At Elkhart General, we understand this desire. Our rehabilitation services take an interdisciplinary approach to patient care, tailored to each individual, using the latest in techniques to get patients back to functioning as independently as possible, as quickly as possible. We offer comprehensive inpatient services for pediatric patients, adolescents and adults who have significant functional deficits, as well as outpatient services for either a single therapy or any combination of therapies.

Whether your condition is severe – such as a stroke or multiple sclerosis – or a sports-related or work injury, we will work with you to achieve your goals and to return you to your highest level of ability.

• Inpatient Rehabilitation Services
  Our Activities of Daily Living Suites provide a safe environment for patients to learn important and challenging self-care skills before re-entering the home and community.
  
• Outpatient Rehabilitation Services
  Some patients, particularly those with a severe disorder – like stroke, may need continued therapy after they are dismissed from Elkhart General Hospital.
• Cardiac Rehabilitation
  Elkhart General Hospital has designed the Cardiac Rehabilitation Program especially to help restore coronary patients to optimal health status and to help them through this difficult time by offering information, advice, an exercise program, and careful monitoring of their rehabilitation plan.
• Pulmonary Rehabilitation
  The Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program at Elkhart General Hospital is a comprehensive outpatient treatment program for individuals with chronic respiratory diseases or symptoms.
