Elkhart General’s Radiology Department is a highly specialized department that strives to meet all patient and clinician needs in diagnostic imaging and image-guided therapies. Performing more than 125,000 diagnostic imaging procedures each year, we offer patients access to experienced technologist and radiologists as well as the most advanced imaging technology available.

Radiologic Technology Students

Through an affiliation with Indiana University South Bend and Lake Michigan College, Elkhart General continues its long tradition of being actively involved in the training of health care professionals. Our Radiology Department at is a clinical education site for Indiana University South Bend’s Radiologic Technology program. Elkhart General offers radiography students a comprehensive education with advanced technology, including computed radiography, digital radiography and PACS and exposure to a wide range of imaging specialties.

• CT Scanning
  A computed tomography (CT) scan uses x-rays to produce pictures of structures inside the body.
  
  Includes: Cardiac SmartScore; 64-Slice CT; Abdomen/Pelvis CT; Angiography CT; Chest CT; Extremity/Joints CT; Head/Brain CT; Sinus CT; Spine CT
• Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
  A Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scan, uses a magnetic field and low energy radio waves to produce a series of pictures of your head, spine, or other parts of your body.
• Nuclear Medicine
  Nuclear Medicine is a full-service department which performs both diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
• PET/CT Scanning
  Positron Emission Tomography (PET) /Computed Tomography (CT) scanning are both standard imaging tools that physicians use to pinpoint disease states in the body.
• Ultrasound
  Ultrasound is a test that uses reflected sound waves to produce an image of organs and other structures in the body.
• X-ray Exams
  X-rays are a form of radiation, like light or radio waves that can be focused into a beam, much like a flashlight beam.
