Preventing the Spread of Infection

You can help prevent the spread of germs and infection by following these simple steps:

HANDWASHING:

Handwashing is the most important step to prevent the spread of infection.  Always wash your hands before and after visiting all patients. There is a sink in each patient's room.

ILLNESSES:

We ask that you do not visit if you have any of the following symptoms:

  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Symptoms of a cold - cough, sore throat, runny nose, and/or fever
  • Exposed to or have chicken pox, shingles, measles, mumps, or any other infection you know to be contagious

If you have any questions about whether you should visit, please contact the nurse.
