2009 Boomer Bash!

Life is Booming at 55!!

Sponsored by The Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) of Elkhart County and Elkhart General Home Care & Home Medical Equipment, the Boomer Bash is Elkhart County's Premier Senior Expo.

Highlights include:

• Free non-fasting cholesterol, non-fasting blood glucose, and blood pressure screenings
• Free bone density/osteoporosis screenings
• Free seasonal flu shots (available first come, first served).  Medicare recipients must present card.
• Various booths featuring topics and vendors of interest
• The New Horizons Band performing at Noon

About RSVP

The Retired Senior Volunteer Program of Elkhart County (RSVP Elkhart) has been present in the community for over 30 years. Focused on serving the community and enriching the lives of our 55+ population, RSVP strives to aid our Baby Boomers and seniors in finding fulfillment and purpose through volunteer service.

Most recently under the umbrella of Catholic Charities, RSVP Elkhart has experienced tremendous growth. Our volunteer numbers have nearly doubled to include over 200 volunteers serving in 40 local non-profit and for profit health facilities throughout our region. In 2008, RSVP Elkhart volunteers served 25,578 hours doing activities that included working with the homeless, lobbying for children’s safety, counseling small and minority business owners, visiting patients in the hospital and nursing homes, serving food pantry clients, and much more. With the national value of an hour of volunteer labor being $18.75 this service is valued at $499,587.50.
