How the American Cancer Society Supports You on Your Cancer Journey

Presented by Kathy Deka, Community Programs Representative, American Cancer Society, North Central Indiana Service Center.

Kathy will present the various ways the American Cancer Society can help you on your cancer journey.  She will also provide information on the different support groups that are available:

  • Road to Recovery is a transportation program that provides trained and certified drivers to take cancer patients to their treatments and doctors' appointments.
  • Look Good...Feel Better provides a certified cosmetologist, who instructs cancer patients currently undergoing chemotherapy or radiation treatments in skin care and make-up application to help them feel their best while undergoing cancer treatment
  • Reach to Recovery is a program that matches breast cancer survivors with newly diagnosed breast cancer patients who are experiencing similar treatments.  These volunteers offer support and share their experiences.
