Our Clinical Associate Internship Program’s offers newly graduated RN’s to ensure a successful start to their first nursing position. EGH is the only hospital in the state to offer this unique program and it has proved itself year after year.
As a Clinical Associate, you will receive one on one mentoring focused on the clinical training, personal skills, and technological skills needed to hit the ground running. After completing this 3–6 month internship, we are confident that you will be ready for you own patient assignments and will gain experience comparable to peers that have spent a year or more in the field.

The objectives of this specialized training is to provide critical care education, clinical experiences, preceptorship and mentoring to new graduates that are interested in working in the critical care units of the hospital. Also, to provide a solid theoretical base, clinical experience and personal support to new employees in the critical care units, resulting in a positive early work experiences and contributing towards retention.
All selected Critical Care Nurse Interns will be hired in a permanent position in a specific critical care unit and will also have orientation time in Critical Care East and West, Emergency Department, Progressive Care Unit and Intermediate Care Center. Observation time will also be scheduled in Cardiovascular Recovery, Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Respiratory Therapy, Pharmacy, IV Therapy, Stress Lab, Specials (Radiology), and additional units are directed by the Unit Nurse Manager.

The Medical/Surgical Internship has been designed to provide special attention to the development of critical thinking, time management and task proficiency skills of a newly graduated RN. Also to provide each intern with dedicated preceptors to guide them through their growth experiences in the Medical/Surgical, Oncology Care Services, Post Surgical Care and Regional Center for Joint Replacement units. As an intern, you may also have the opportunity to “float” or rotate through specialty areas that offer services to patients in these units.
All selected Medical/Surgical Nurse Interns will be hired in a permanent position in a specific unit will also have orientation time in all the defined Medical/Surgical Units.

The recruitment process begins and applications will be available in September (for Fall Graduates) and February (for Spring Graduates) of every year.
