Friday, January 04, 2013 - Elkhart General Hospital Emergency Medical Services to offer
GOSHEN, IN – Elkhart General Hospital Emergency Medical Services is offering an Emergency Medical Training (EMT) Course every Tuesday and Thursday beginning February 12 through August 22, 2013 from 6 p.m. – 10 p.m. in the Elkhart General Health Education Center next to Lowe’s on US 33 in Goshen.

The EMT class teaches the concepts, information and skills needed to safely assess and treat patients in pre-hospital emergency situations. Training includes classroom instruction as well as clinical rotations in the Elkhart General Hospital Emergency Department and on an emergency ambulance. Upon successful completion of this program students are eligible to take the National Registry/Indiana State Written and Practical Skills Exams.

Students must have a high school diploma or GED, hepatitis vaccination, MMR vaccination, varicella immunity, tetanus immunization within the past 10 years, recent tuberculosis test, valid Healthcare Provider Level CPR card and be at least 18 years of age.

Tuition is $825.00 and includes textbook, workbook and clinical supplies. A $300 down payment is due the first night of class. Registration is required by January 15, 2013. To register visit www.egh.org or call
